On this coast, the number that matters is minutes, not degrees

Cooling, heating and humidity for Beaumont houses and businesses. A system that hits the setpoint in five minutes and stops has not dried anything out — and that is why the house still feels wrong at 74 degrees.

The Gulf coast problem

Cooling and drying are two different jobs

Air conditioning removes moisture only while the coil is cold and air is moving across it. Short bursts satisfy a thermostat without ever getting to the drying part, so the room reads the right temperature and still feels like a wet towel.

In Beaumont that matters more than almost anywhere. It is also why an oversized system — the thing most people ask for — makes the complaint worse rather than better.

What we do

Four things, in this order

  • 01MeasureRun time, supply and return temperatures, airflow, static pressure and electrical draw. Written down every visit.
  • 02ExplainWhat the numbers mean in words you can repeat to somebody else, before anybody talks about parts.
  • 03PriceIn writing before the work, including what happens if we open something up and find more.
  • 04Only then, fitRepairs, duct work or replacement — sized from the building rather than from the label on what is already there.
Who we work for

Both, properly

Homes

Beaumont, Port Arthur, Nederland, Groves and Lumberton — where the humidity complaint is the real complaint.

  • No-cool calls with the common parts carried
  • Annual service with readings, not a sticker
  • Duct sealing and airflow measured room by room
  • Condensate, drains and float switches taken seriously
  • Replacement sized from a load calculation

Businesses

Offices, clinics, shops, restaurants and light industrial across the Golden Triangle.

  • Planned service with a record per unit
  • Rooftop packaged units and splits
  • Make-up air, extract and building pressure
  • Humidity in spaces where it matters to the work
  • Replacement planning across a whole site
Questions

Before you call

The house is cool but it feels damp. What is going on?

Almost certainly run time. Air conditioning only removes moisture while the coil is cold and air is passing over it, so a system that satisfies the thermostat in short bursts cools without drying. The run-time gauge walks through it.

Would a bigger system help?

On this coast it usually makes the damp feeling worse, because a larger system reaches the setpoint faster and runs for shorter periods. Where sizing turns out to be the problem, the answer is a correctly sized system — often variable-speed — not a larger one.

How do I measure run time?

Pick a genuinely hot afternoon, watch the outdoor unit for an hour and add up the minutes it actually runs. Do it over two or three hot days before drawing conclusions, and never on a mild day.

Why does water keep appearing at the air handler?

A blocked condensate line, an unprimed trap or a pan that has corroded. In this climate an indoor coil produces a great deal of water, and where it goes matters. It is the commonest cause of ceiling damage we see.

Do you work on commercial premises?

Yes. Offices, clinics, shops, restaurants and light industrial, with planned schedules and a record per unit. Building pressure and make-up air are a real part of that work here.

Which areas do you cover?

Beaumont, Port Arthur, Nederland, Groves, Port Neches, Lumberton and Vidor.
